MOBILITY AWARENESS SAFETY SYSTEM
Startling statistics from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety show
that in the past five years, two out of the 175 pedestrians who were killed
in Minnesota and 183 of the 4,405 pedestrians who were injured were using a
wheelchair or other assistive nobility device.
The mobility awareness safety system allows physically challenged
consumers to navigate outdoors safely while in traffic, inclement weather,
or other adverse conditions such as low visibility due to fog or poor
lighting.
This system makes drivers aware that a physically challenged person is in
the area.
This system is an add-on lighting harness for assistive mobility devices
that can include an optional safety horn. There are two different
system configurations:
-
A basic running light comprised of headlights and taillights.
-
A series of safety flashing lights.
