Minnesota Emergency Communications Team Welcomes Volunteers and New Chapters -- Have You Got What it Takes?
What We Do:
The Minnesota Emergency Communications Team provides public service radio communications support when called
upon by emergency management agencies such as the Red Cross, Police or Fire
Departments.
If you are an amateur or ham radio operator and you are
interested in connecting with other people who are ham radio operators and want
to do more to assist in the community, why not network with Minnesota
Emergency Communications Team. You would head up the team in your
geographical area and do the recruiting for your team. Join us today by
completing and submitting the attached
PDF form.
Operations may include weather-related disasters such as
tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, or other catastrophes like the August 1,
2007 Interstate
35W bridge collapse
in Minneapolis, MN.
Additionally, we may provide public service radio
communications support during parades, marathons or other public events.
What You Will Do as a Team Leader:
As a team leader you will be the liaison between your local law enforcement
agencies in your area, and the Minnesota
Emergency Communications Team. Additionally, Team Members are responsible for recruitment in
their communities and ensuring that your Team's members attend meetings,
trainings and tactical ops as required. Join Today
